Wholefoods catering

I’m doing wholefoods private catering. I impulsively posted on Bunz, and got some interest. On one hand, yaddayadda it’s food-oriented so probs unideal for ED healing, but also it’s honestly a mind-break and a job that 1) feels good to be of service, keeps me busy, and 2) I actually get out of my mind and in a state of flow bc I get to express my creativity through r cope curating and flavour experimentation, and also 3) I make food that I’m challenging myself with

Long term, not ideal as a career choice of mine, but certainly good experience for my future retreat centre, and setting intentions to get bum to BC and up mountains and in lakes n stuff.

Also this no laptop thing is annoying- FWP, but phone autocorrects are hilarious I almost want to uncorrect them for the lols.

Letting Go

Usually, I don’t do this shit: ingredients really are “non-food” items…

But you know what? #yolo and #lettinggo feels better.

Everything in moderation, even moderation is good. If this is my “treat”, then so be it. I really do enjoy this salad, and I really don’t have very much at all bc my body doesn’t like too much (probs knows it has yick stuff in der).

I like a little bit, life’s spicy when you follow your intuition.

Beet Blueberry Superfood Smoothie Bowl

When¬†I find something I like, I keep it. ¬†Here’s a great smoothie bowl that I’ve been making. ¬†I like to add whole foods, chewable foods, to it, because there are certain body processes that are initiated by the act of chewing; our body primes our digestive system and gets signalled to release enzymes etc. ¬†So, smoothies in moderation.


scoop of frozen blueberries
some slices of cooked beets
splash of almond milk
splash of water
2 tbsp Great Lakes Gelatin, the green one (I get mine here)
Superfoods: 1tsp of each – spirulina, wheatgrass, maca powder, acai berry powder
Vanilla and Almond Extract, when I’m feeling fancy or whatever
Cinnamon and nutmeg
Himalayan Pink Sea Salt

Blended and topped with: bee pollen, cacao nibs, flax seeds, unshelled hemp hearts, banana, Manitoba Harvest Hemp pro 70 (unflavoured), and I eat it on the side with a coupla spoonfulls of nut butter, yogurt, apple and cheese.

It’s good shit.

Coming from a space where I had an eating disorder, and was a binge-purger, and had anorexia nervosa, or whatever diagnostic category is titled for an abusive relationship with food,¬†I now look at foods based on the way my body thrives from the nutrients. ¬†And I eat, because I love myself, unconditionally (and ongoing process). ¬†This is important. ¬†Food is not a “treat”, it is a beautiful accompaniment to a beautiful life. ¬†I don’t deserve or not deserve it. ¬†It is what it is, and I am always grateful. ¬†I eat real food, from the earth, wholesome, no sugar/fabricated/man-made poop.

It’s a blissful way of self-respect, encompassing a symbiotic relationship between the nourishment that I am about to receive, and my mind state and body state of acceptance of the food.

Self-love is always the way, and breathe deeply.

Homemade Hazelnut Milk Banana Mango Parfait


Hazelnut Milk Banana Mango Parfait

¬†“Eat¬†food,¬†not too much,¬†mostly plants.”

Good real food.

Eat when hungry, “If you’re hungry enough to eat an apple.”, then you’re hungry.

Eat intuitively, minimally processed, and with intent to nourish your body. ¬†It’s the most important thing you own, and the only place you have to live.

Here’s a recipe:

Homemade Hazelnut Banana Parfait

Makes 2 mason jar portions


Hazelnut Milk Custard:

1/3 cup hazelnuts, soaked in 1 cup water overnight (at least 8 hours)

3 dates soaked in water (2 hours)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons chia seeds

3 egg yolks

pinch of salt


Toasted Coconut Oats: (Toast these mixed together in toaster oven for 10ish mins, watch em, they burn quick, mix em round a little bit to rearrange for EVEN TOASTING)

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup shredded coconut (much tastier if self-shredded: “chop your own wood and it warms you twice.”)

Add-ins: mashed banana with cinnamon, coconut butter, cut up mango, crushed hazelnuts.


After soaking hazelnuts, put them in a food processor with the water, dates (and soaking water), vanilla, and salt. Blend that shit.



Put the hazelnut milk mixture in a pot on the stove and warm slightly.


Whip the egg yolks a bit, and then slowly (or not, it worked fine for me without being too ‘one yolk at a time’ as long as the hazelnut milk isn’t too hot, and yolks not too cold) add yolks while whisking the mix.


Whisk for round 4 mins, then put into the bottom layer of the mason jars.  Add in one tablespoon to each jar of chia seeds.


Add in a layer of toasted oats and coconut.  Save some of the mix for another layer.



Now mash the banana with some cinnamon and slice up the mango.



Dollop in that shit.



My mum didn’t like this part, but I added in a teaspoon of coconut butter, probs would’ve been better if it was melted on top the morning of eating, but I put it in the night before so it was hard (that’s what she said).


Top it with oats and crushed hazelnuts.
